Our team contains a talented, driven group of professionals. With a range of backgrounds in Learning Disability, Social Care, Education, Tech, 3rd Sector, Public Service and Business. We have one goal in common – creating the best product available on the Learning Disability market.

William Britton, Founder and CEO

After completing his Video Production Degree and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) specialising in Learning Disabilities he went on to teach ICT, Media and graphics to Adults with Learning Disabilities. William also worked for 5 years as an Assistive Technology specialist and combined his understanding of Learning Disabilities, Video production and technical knowledge to develop a prototype of AutonoMe. After receiving high praise he founded AutonoMe to build a 21st-century solution to the barriers to independence faced by the Learning Disability community..

Laura Ladd, Director of Business Development

Laura has over 15 years experience in the third sector specialising in public sector fundraising and partnership expertise with extensive experience working with a range of commissioners and prime contractors in Health and Social Care, Social Investment and Social Value sectors. Laura brings her deep understanding of the learning disability market to the executive team leading on Business Development across the company.

Matt Dale, Lead Developer

With a BSc in Psychology with Cognitive Science from UCL, Matt has over 15 years in the industry developing technological solutions for the financial, advertising and charity sectors. Having studied Art & Design and with an interest in all things Tech, Matt brings together his experience and ability to ensure the AutonoMe tech stack is at the cutting edge of Learning Disability care.

Luke Hastings, Local Engagement Lead

Luke builds long-lasting relationships with our clients and their partners to help them cost-effectively improve their service delivery. Luke has years of experience creating and maintaining relationships within the public and private sector and knows one of the most important assets in business are the partnerships built along the way. Luke holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Media Production..

Chris Watson, Advisor

Chris has over 20 years experience of working across the public and voluntary sector in the fields of health, social care and community development with a focus on working with people with learning disabilities to achieve citizenship within their communities.  As well as working alongside people as a support worker at a grassroots level, in community-based supported living projects, he has worked at a strategic level in a local authority and on programmes delivering national priorities around helping people move out of institutionalised living environments and into their own homes.

Lauren, Graphic Design

Lauren is a Bristol based graphic designer who holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Columbia College, Chicago. Lauren works across a variety of companies including AutonoMe where she creates our bespoke icons and accompanying graphic materials.

The Board

Richard has an extensive portfolio, previously strategy consultant – turned ‘impact’ entrepreneur. He was the founder and CEO of 8 Degrees North: conceived, funded and ran a commercial palm oil business in Africa which rehabilitated smallholder farmers as an alternative to deforestation. Was CEO Beyond Green, a sustainability advice large scale regenerations projects. Provided business development for a start-up in Silicon Valley during the dotcom boom and has personally raised over £15m in funding

Richard Kendall

Non-Exec Director

Dan is a highly experienced engineering manager, software architect and consultant specialising in backend architecture and development, and technical team building and mentoring. Dan was Founder and Technical Director at SecondSync, and created the SecondSync data platform. SecondSync was acquired by Twitter in April 2014. Dan then went on to manage a team of engineers at Twitter UK until his departure in 2016

Denis qualified as a Chartered Accountant and became a Corporate Finance partner in Ernst Young in 1989. He was with the firm for 26 years before leaving in December 2001. He covered a very wide spread of businesses, and was involved in all stages of business development, from start-ups through MBOs, acquisitions, mergers, and Stock Exchange flotations. Since he retired, Denis has largely focused on charitable work, been Chairman of Bristol Real Tennis Club and been involved with the development of BPEC.
